Dr Tony Westwood BVSc - Veterinary Surgeon

Tony graduated from the University of Sydney in 1979. He  has worked principally in small animal practice in Sydney, and started Woronora Rd Veterinary Clinic in 1990. He has lived and worked in the Sutherland Shire since 1982. He and Yvonne have a son who is also a veterinarian, currently working in a mixed practice, and a daughter who started her teaching career at Engadine West Primary School.

Philippa McGuiness - Veterinary Surgeon

Philippa graduated from Murdoch University in Perth in 1979.  She worked in Perth and Hong Kong before moving to Sydney in 1983.  She owned Lakemba Veterinary Clinic until 1991, then worked part time and locum work in small animal practices whilst her children were young. She joined Woronora Road Veterinary Clinic in 1999 and is available for consultations on Thursdays and every fourth Friday and Saturday.  She and Jim have 4 children.  They live with a ball-obsessed Border collie "Bowe", a cat Simba and a rainbow lorikeet "Ray".

Tiina Packalen - Veterinary Nurse

Tiina originally came from Finland and is fluent in three languages. After working as a volunteer  at Symbio zoo, she completed her vet nursing training (Certificate IV) and joined Woronora Rd Veterinary Clinic in 2006.Tiina lives with her husband, two children, a very friendly Labrador called "Pepper" and Toby the cat (who reminds her of Garfield with his personality), and Bob the budgie. She has a special interest in photography.

Tammilea Clarke - Veterinary Nurse

Tammilea first started working with animals in 2004 as a volunteer at Symbio zoo. She later became a WIRES carer and rescuer, and in 2006 joined the Sutherland Shire dog training club, where she trained her 2 Bulldog's in obedience, fly ball and agility. Her vet nursing career also started at this time, but had to be put on hold while she started a family. She joined the Woronora Rd Veterinary Clinc in 2011, where she is now completing her Certificate IV in veterinary nursing, having already completed the Hills VNA and puppy preschool courses and a Delta animal behaviour seminar. Tammilea works at the clinic on Mondays and Fridays and also runs the puppy preschool classes.

Maeve Hitchman - Veterinary Nurse

Originally from Ireland, Maeve is a long-term resident of Engadine, She has been a Veterinary nurse at Woronora Rd Veterinary Clinic since 1995, and is well known by our clients and their pets.  She has four adult children and a baby granddaughter.  She owns a cat "Missy".  As well as her love of animals, Maeve is a coordinator of Sutherland Acoustic Club where she enjoys helping to keep music alive in the Shire.  She plays Irish percussion instruments,  the spoons and the Bodhrain.
